[PHP-dev 455] PHP/MySQL in Japanese

    Hello, I'm about to start the implementation
of a system to be used in the Japanese market. However,
I do not speak Japanese - the system will be developed
in English and will be translated later.
    I would like to know what should I expect and be
prepared in order to be able to successfully export the
system to your charset, for example:

1) What changes will be needed in the PHP code
2) What do I need to change in SQL queries and MySQL install

    I'm aware that PHP does not support some multi-byte
character sets, so which one should be used for Japan?
    Any help and suggestions are very appreciated.
