しょうまです。

RedHat 8.0はgcc3.2がのっていますが，PHP4.3.3をコンパイルできています。

gcc バージョン 3.2 20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7)
PHP 4.3.3 (cli) (built: Sep  8 2003 16:27:49)
Copyright (c) 1997-2003 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2003 Zend Technologies

http://bugs.php.net/ をちょっとみてみたのですが，わかりませんでした。
SunOS 5.8の問題っぽい気がします。
